100 word challenge: Hard Beautiful Brown Worried Camera

I was looking at the most disgusting thing in my life. The hard, big, brown, awful thing was sitting there, motionless and horrible. It was anything but beautiful. How could a dog do a poo so big? I grabbed out my camera and took a picture. It was hard to ignore a sight like this. Then I started to wonder if it was a dog’s poo. Could it have been a human? Maybe. I looked around the park to see if I could spot a dog, or even a human. But there was nobody there.

100 word challenge: …but how could something so tiny…

But… but… I don’t understand! How could something so tiny… Oh. Hi. You’re probably wondering what I’m talking about. I’m talking about what happened at the zoo today. I was looking at the elephant enclosure when I saw an elephant being lifted up. I looked underneath to see what it was… AND FOUND OUT IT WAS A MOUSE! I couldn’t believe my eyes! So yeah, that’s what I’m wondering about. I mean, what would you do if you suddenly saw an elephant lifted up by a mouse? You’d be pretty shocked, right?

BTN- Federation explained

This video was about the commonwealth of Australia. Things could have been different for Australia if the dutch explorer, Able Tasman, who discovered Australia, stuck around. We’d all be speaking dutch! Australia wasn’t claimed until 1770. You couldn’t travel by train between Melbourne and Brisbane because the train tracks were different widths. When did the countries come together? When he discovered Australia, was Cook alone? Back then everything was sexist and racist.

100 word challenge: …so that is why i am always last…

I was taking my dog for a walk when I heard a strange noise coming from behind some trees. I walked over and looked behind them. I couldn’t believe it! There was a frozen mummy standing right in front of me! I walked over to it and inspected it closely. Suddenly it spoke. “I have cursed you with an ancient curse. If you ever come first in anything you will die!” It said in a raspy voice. Then it disappeared. Now, I didn’t know whether to believe him or not, but I decided to just in case. So that is why I am always last.

This video was about two soldiers who were underpaid so they purposely stole something and got caught because they thought being a convict would be easier. But instead of sentencing them to travel, the judge made them examples and sentenced them to 7 years hard labour with chains. One of them died and people argued if the government did something wrong. Soldiers get lousy pay. Convicts have signed hours, agreed rates of pay, and when they’ve done their time they can even apply for land grants. Francis Faubs had a job to ensure that the laws made in Australia are not repugnant to the laws in England.  How do the chains work? How did Suds die? Do not try to get into trouble on purpose because the punishments might be worst than you think.

The crickets- A camp poem

As we put on our helmets,

I was as excited as I could be,

Until I got told about the crickets,

Which really scared me.

As I crawled down the hole,

I knew I had to be brave,

for I was scared of the crickets,

right down in the cave.

I heard a drip and a drop,

Which made me jump high,

I was really freaked out now,

And this was no lie.

I kept telling myself

That I would be fine,

But I still could not keep calm.

I hate that fear of mine!

The lady told us

All about a stalactite.

It was very interesting,

And It was quite a sight.

When we moved on,

I started to relax.

But then I got scared again,

When everything went pitch black.

“Turn on your torches”

The lady said.

“Unless you’d rather

Go back instead?”

As we crawled on,

I couldn’t see any crickets.

It was starting to feel like

A really awesome exhibit.

But then one kid said,

“Everyone look up there!”

And there were two crickets,

They gave me a scare.

I hoped and hoped

That they would not fall

For if they did,

I was sure to bawl.

As we crawled past them,

It was not so bad.

And when we climbed out of the cave,

I actually felt glad!
